"We stayed here on our wedding night.
The owners couldn't have been more accommodating . . . not to worry about checking out on time and to make ourselves at home.
Everything of high quality.
Life is pleasingly slow in this part of the world, we sat and ate breakfast over a couple of hours on the terrace, explored their beautiful gardens in the company of one of their escaped chickens (we put her back in her coop by the way!).
We're very happy we chose it and found it the perfect, peaceful escape together from the hectic days preceding it." Suhaine, Newcastle
"What a wonderful place for us to spend our wedding night and for me to get ready the night before.
Lovely peaceful setting and amazing gardens.
Thank you so much. We will be back!"
"This is a marvellous place, a small paradise and a romantic place for honeymoons!

"We stayed at The Dovecote as one of our stops on The Hadrian's Wall walk and couldn't have made a better choice.
Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel completely at home upon arrival.
Lovely comfortable room in the main house followed by a great supper.
We really enjoyed the opportunity to socialise with other guests over dinner and had a most relaxing end to a hard day's walk.
Breakfast in the morning was equally impressive with fresh ingredients.
We couldn't recommend The Dovecote highly enough - you won't be disappointed!"

"Stayed here for just one night (sadly) after a very long & hard 16 miles on Hadrian's Wall . . . with the biggest, most comfortable bed on our travels yet.
We were then shown into the greenhouse with its own vines (!) where we sat in the evening sunshine with a wonderful cup of tea & freshly baked tea loaf . . . aaahhh!
I could go on but suffice to say, we were very well looked after, the lovely owners provided us with a superb evening meal, breakfast & packed lunch for our next day’s walking.
We will return here to enjoy it more!"
