By Road:
From the East (Newcastle or Hexham):
Driving west along the A69 take the first right after Hexham onto the A6079
After the village of Wall take the first left at the crossroads (onto the B6318 - known as the military road)
Go over the bridge (at the George Hotel) and take the first exit at the roundabout (staying on the B6318)
In half a mile, just after the entrance to Chesters Roman Fort, take the first right up a narrow lane
We are half a mile up the hill.
The house is on the left and the Dovecote on the right hand side of the lane
From the West (following Hadrians Wall - the B6318 - known as the military road):
Take the first left after the hamlet of Walwick (just after the beautiful Grade I listed Chesters stables) and just before the entrance to Chesters Roman Fort.
(It is poorly signposted so if you come to the Fort you have just gone past the turn!)
Go up the narrow lane.
We are half a mile up the hill.
Our house is on the left and the Dovecote on the right hand side of the lane
By Train:
The nearest station is at Hexham (6 miles away) and the nearest mainline station is at Newcastle upon Tyne (25 miles).
We can pick you up from either station by prior arrangement.
You can also catch a bus or a taxi from Hexham station
